Francis Maude was first elected Member of Parliament for Horsham in 1997, and again in 2001 and 2005. In May 2010 he was elected for a fourth time. He was Chairman of the Conservative Party from May 2005 until July 2007, when he was appointed Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office and Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Following the formation of the new Government, Francis was appointed Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General.
